Hi Steve
I like the look of your blog – you’ve seen mine – pretty basic by comparison. I was wondering how you get all the interesting stuff like your ‘Clustrmaps’, the top menu and the ‘Blogroll’ added into your WordPress site? Could you point me in the right direction so I might jazz mine up a bit? Thanks – Mark
Thanks, Mark. All of these items are “widgets,” which you can find in your WordPress Dashboard under “Appearance.” There are many types of widgets and you can experiment with them to figure out what works best for you. They are all fairly straightfoward except for the Clustermaps picture. You build that by inserted some html code into a Text Widget. You can find the specific code here: http://clustrmaps.wordpress.com/html-setup/clustrmaps-on-wordpress/
Good luck!
Hey Martin,
Been planning to ask this for some time – which Garmin do you use? Btw, am planning something similar to you – get a new trek 2.x this winter and relegate the trek 7100 to ‘family duty’
Cheers!
I’ve got the Edge 500. I love it! It hasn’t let me down once since I got it in June. Good luck with your new Trek and let me know what you settle on!
Okay, I get how to use the widgets and the sidebar, but how did you get those things across the top?
I only have “about” while you pre-blog rides, pbrs, etc.
Share your secrets, oh Yoda of the blogosphere!
In the left column of the dashboard, there is a category called “pages.” Select “Add New” and you’re on your way!
Thouroughly enjoyed this blog and this PBR’s especially, going to add that to my blog now!
Cracking stuff!
Charlie
Thanks, Charlie, but I would be mindful of the term, PBR – to some people it reminds them of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer!
